CNN —After Japanese author Rie Kudan won one of the country’s most prestigious literary awards, she admitted she’d had help from an unusual source — ChatGPT. The author then confirmed at a press conference that around 5% of her book “The Tokyo Tower of Sympathy” — which was lauded by committee members as “practically flawless” — was word-for-word generated by AI. The novel centers around the dilemmas of an architect tasked with building a comfortable high-rise prison in Tokyo where law breakers are rehabilitated, and features AI as a theme. Kudan said that, in her own life, she would consult ChatGPT about problems she felt she couldn’t tell anyone. “It seems that the story that Rie Kudan’s award-winning work was written using generative AI is misunderstood… If you read it, you will see that the generative AI was mentioned in the work,” he wrote.

The world’s largest sand island is now officially known by its traditional name, K’gari, the government of the Australian state of Queensland announced Wednesday. The name change formally recognizes the connection of the indigenous Butchulla people to the UNESCO World Heritage site on Australia’s east coast. “In our creation stories, our stories handed down by generations, it has always been K’gari and always will be,” Gayle Minniecon, chairperson of Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation, said in a press release. It’s what we call home,” Joyce Bonner, Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation Language and Cultural coordinator, said in a statement ahead of the reinstatement. K’gari means “paradise” in the Butchulla language and is pronounced “GUR-rie” or “Gurri,” according to the Queensland government.

Declinul a fost determinat de reducerea tranzacţiilor în regiuni, capitala atingând o maximă istorică de 22.477 apartamente. Totuşi, în anul 2020, în mediul urban au fost date în exploatare 5895 locuinţe, în scădere cu 2095 locuinţe (sau cu 26,2%) faţă de anul 2019. Programul de stat „Prima Casă” a fost şi el un catalizator puternic pentru piaţa imobiliară.

Membrii Consiliului Superior al Magistraturii (CSM) l-au desemnat pe magistratul Petru Moraru în calitate de membru permanent al Comitetului de Supraveghere în cadrul proiectului „Consolidarea sistemului de justiție penală bazat pe respectarea drepturilor omului în Republica Moldova”. Decizia a fost luată marți, 13 aprilie, de către membrii CSM, la solicitarea Oficiului Consiliului Europei de la Chișinău de a delega un membru CSM.
